Choosing a Random Picker: What to Look For

Not every random picker works the same. Here is what matters when you need a fair, visible result.

Visible vs hidden randomness

A random number in a spreadsheet is fine for solo work. In a classroom or raffle, people want to see the pick. Spin wheels show the deceleration and landing — that visibility is the main reason groups prefer them.

Privacy and setup

Look for tools that keep lists in the browser if you handle student or customer names. Avoid pickers that require accounts for a one-time draw. Import from CSV saves time when you already have a list in Excel or Google Sheets.

Features worth having

Remove-winner mode, fullscreen for projectors, share links for hybrid meetings, and PNG export for records. Keyboard shortcuts (Space to spin) matter when you are standing at the front of a room.

Try it yourself

Open any wheel on OnlineWheelPicker, paste your list, and spin. Press Space to spin, F for fullscreen, and use Bulk edit in the Entries tab to paste names from a spreadsheet.
